Joy is done with the camera, after watching it hover over the puppies for a few minutes today. She attacked it! You wouldn’t know from the smile that broke out on her face 5 seconds later. Joy is almost always smiling :)
The pups range from squirming and screeching in excitement (for milk) to falling into a deep sleep from which they cannot be roused. It’s sweet to see them slowly fall off the mommy, full of milk. Any pups who have not had their fill stay on till they have.
The littlest girl sensed her mommy a few minutes before the others did, today, and got her pick of the mommy milky. I snapped photos while she was busy doing that.
I love how the puppies love to fall asleep hugging each other, faces pressed against one another, hands intertwined, chins propped up on one another. Sometimes they think another puppy’s face is the mommy milky, and suck on an ear or a nose! Their outstretched arms while sleeping today remind me of the way Joy slept at 12 weeks old, the first night we had her <3
They are now a little wrinkly, with more hair, some extra skin on their necks and torsos, and their features a bit more distinguished.
Joy is back on guard duty, out and about at times, more excited than ever to bark at every predator. Since Teddy took over for her for a bit, and experienced getting in the face of predators for the first time, they are now adjusting. For the time, they are on extra bark mode.
