Week 4, July 10-16

The puppies have started venturing out and about this week! They’re out of the whelping box and finding cozy places on the cool earth under the milking deck. They’re able to access their mama easier, and she’s happy (for now) to have them in the places she likes to be.

I’ve been taking the pups on little adventures two by two. I snagged some cute shots on one of these adventures, then had to put the camera down to play with them for the remainder of my time! Super cute babies!

They also find funny places to fall asleep, like upside down on a cow manure scooper… !

They’re now drinking raw milk and well water from bowls. I put 5 bowls out so there are two pups to a bowl. They need some help figuring out that there is more than one bowl! After eating, they’re a real mess. Some of them are extremely eager to get their heads in the bowls - the runt of the litter being one of the most eager and resilient!

Papa Teddy is getting used to the little ones. There are four photos here of them cuddling up to him (they’re the ones with one big dog and one little dog). Mama Joy is a bit protective still, as you can see by her expression in the photo with mama, papa, and baby.
