Learn About Our Guardian “Angels” & Reserving a Pup

We have Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dog puppies!

We are now accepting deposits for puppies.

10 puppies (6 female and 4 male) were born June 18th, 2022.

Adoptions begin September 10th (at 12 weeks).

Pups are $700 each.

If you would like to apply to adopt a pup, please read the FAQ below below, then scroll down to complete the Puppy Application.

What we’d like you to know before you apply (FAQ):

  • If we approve your application, your (non-refundable) deposit of $200 will secure your reservation.

Those who reserve will be given their choice of puppy in the date order of their deposit.

The adoption fee payment is due in full by the time you receive your pup.

  • Our pups will be released for adoption on September 10th, at 12 weeks of age.

We will plan first-time visits at 8 weeks.

Any pups not already reserved at 12 weeks are available on a first-come basis.

  • Puppies and parents are fed a 100% fresh raw diet, plus any wild greens and herbs they find while roaming.

We follow the Natural Rearing recommendations from beloved veterinarian and herbalist, Juliette de Bairacli Levy. Juliette was the author of many books, including The Complete Herbal Handbook for the Dog and Cat and The Complete Herbal Handbook for Farm and Stable. Here at our farm, we refer to the wisdom in her books regularly.

Juliette’s Natural Rearing diet builds strong, resilient pups, as well as healthy, energetic adult dogs.

This diet includes, but is not limited to, flaked non-GMO grains and corn soaked in raw soured milk, raw eggs, kelp, garlic, unheated honey, raw meat (usually venison - including bones, organs, and hair), and bran.

All of the dog’s food is local – either grown / produced by us or by farming friends.

  • Our working Great Pyrenees receive exercise, guidance, and companionship every day. They are an important part of our small family farm.

We live on 30+ acres, surrounded by woods and pasture, through which the Pyrs freely roam.

Our dogs guard our livestock day and night from predators (bear, bobcat, coyote, raccoon, opossum, skunk, fox, weasel, hawk, owl).

Thanks to our “Guardian Angels”, we have had few losses of poultry / fowl, and no losses of cows / calves, beehives, or barn cats.

Our new litter of puppies will be raised alongside their parents in the field, and will learn that their job is to protect livestock.

[We recommend that newly-adopted pups receive everyday exposure to any livestock they may be expected to protect. LGDs are learning sponges, especially as small pups.]

  • Our puppies are 100% Great Pyrenees.

Puppy mom, Joy, has excellent breeding and documentation to show such.

Puppy dad, Teddy, does not have documentation, though we can provide the names of his dam and sire and their originating farms.

Both of our LGDs came from reputable working farms.

  • Pups will not receive shots, antibiotics, pharmaceutical dewormers / flea treatment while with us. We use natural remedies only.

We believe every puppy owner should research and make their own decision as to what shots and medications their puppy does or does not receive - and at what age they may or may not receive such interventions.

That being said, we are happy to provide recommendations for local vets who provide thimerasol-free (mercury-free) rabies shots, if you want to give your pup a rabies shot.
