A Day in the Puppy Life

Joy is doing well and the puppies (6 girls and 4 boys) are nursing with vigor, except for one who needed some assistance. One big white girl had a dry mouth and was having a hard time swallowing. I imagine she had not been able to compete at feedings. I fed her twice with a dropper today - using milk watered down with water, unheated honey, and Real salt. At the end of the day, she was doing much better.
The puppies already have personalities that are revealing themselves. Some are very vocal, crying if they don’t get milk right away, while others barely make a peep. Some don’t mind being picked up, and others fight for their life if they are. Some like to sleep on the outside of the puddle, while most like to curl around or on top of each other. One boy with a teddy-bear mask and a couple of dots on his head is very diligent about getting his milk - he bops his head forwards and backwards to make sure the milk is coming! He reminds me of a calf bumping its’ mama’s udder!
